Reclaiming Our Eardrums: Seal -- System

The radio yields nothing but Timbaland and T-Pain songs. I like Timbaland okay but I'm a little sick of that being the only sound on the radio. Oh wait, there's Alicia Keys' No One on all the time, too. The song grew on me but it's not her best work, in my opinion. Anyway, enough bashing. I am listening to and enjoying the latest Seal cd, System. Kind of sounds like early Seal. It's good atmosphere music.

4 observations from the masses:
I've always loved Seal's voice. "Don't Cry" has to be one of my favorites ever from him. I haven't heard the new stuff yet.
I don't even listen to the radio. I can't remember the last time I did. It's the same 10 songs in nauseating repitition.
"No One" is not my favorite from Alicia either. I'd love to hear "Lessons Learned" a bit more, but I'm sure after radio runs it in the ground I'll hate it soon enough. LOL
^we know that the most interesting thing about seal isn't heidi klum! i've loved his music since crazy and killer.
i listened to a few songs off of the new alicia cd and it was aight. those songs were actually better than the singles though. give me india arie any day.
I just picked up "System" this past week, and I'm really enjoying listening to it. "System," the song, is especially good, and I think there is some real political meaning in it. Many aspects of the lyrics seem, to me, to refer to Bush, both Dubya and H.W. ("read my lips!"), and to my ears, "color coding" refers to the terror alerts.
I love the song; it's catchy, it's powerful, it's GREAT to drive to. I have it on "repeat" everywhere I listen to it :D.
^i need to listen to those lyrics again -- i picked up some of that but not all. good look. thx geoffrey!
